(PIC) Gravitational inclined flow

2D fast gravitational flow of disks with an angle higher than the internal friction angle of the grain.

This model uses the Particle-In-Cell (PIC) approach which combines the avantages of the Eulerian displacements and the Lagrangian solvation of the local pressure and velocity fields. This method can allow us to model dry granular flow or coupled with an interstitial fluid.

Experimental set-up

– Internal friction angle = 40°

– Periodic boundary conditions in the flowing direction

– Inclined plane of an angle of 55°

– « Particle-In-Cell » numerical model is used for this smulation
